Not quite a Fairy Tale

If you asked me a year ago what date it is I probably would say “Forever Alone Day”. And yes, maybe I’m still single, but at least I’m not all  sad about it.  Last year I was bumped, but this year I had a blast actually.

My school does this sell during Valentine’s Day that is to recollect money for the graduation, and it’s organize by seniors. Yep, I’m a senior, so I was part of that. And stressing over selling roses and chocolates was great. Putting red lipstick (really bright red lipstick), some funny hats with hearts on them, heart stickers all over the place (including our uniforms!)… Today was amazing, not quite a Fairy Tale, but amazing.

I had fun with my friends, I had fun selling the roses, and just spending my last Valentines Day in school!

How was your Valentines?

Adam Wilde

If I Stay, such an incredible book. I cried a lot while reading it, but I loved it! Is really, really good!

The book is about Mia Hall, a girl who suffers an car accident, and turns out, her soul is out of her body so she can see everything that is happening around her while her body is in the ICU.

Mia’s boyfriend, Adam, is so sweet and cute, and ding ding ding ding, we have a winner for my next Book Boyfriend post!

Adam Wilde is a   guy with brown hair and eyes that have green specks, and has a lopsided smile. His description is really short, so its up to our imagination. So I led my imagination fly, and I picture a more tanned, with shorter hair, Drake Bell.  I had a celeb crush on Drake when he acted on Drake and Josh, and he sings, just like Adam!

So Adam!

I loved Adam because he has super sweet, super romantic. He loved Mia and respect her love for classic music, even thou Adam is the lead singer of a rock band called Shooting Star.  He is a total sweetheart, and everytime Mia told a story about him, or during the whole second book Where She Went (told by Adam), I couldn’t help but die out of love! This guy is amazing!

Who else you think matched Adam Wilde?

Change Your Habits

During Winter Break I went to Disney World. I don’t have to say that I gained like 3 pounds thanks to funnel cake, chicken tenders, pizza and everything that is bad for your body but delicious for your mouth.

Those three pounds I gained hunted me for two reasons: 1) I had to lose 3 pounds before winter break, so after my trip I had to lose 6 pounds! 2) I had a trip two weeks after I got home, and I was sad because another trip means more pounds.

But guess what? In those 2 weeks I lost 7 pounds.  Yes, that’s right. SEVEN POUNDS! And I kept them during my trip and now it has been a month and a half since I got home from Disney and I weight 10 pounds less, without sweating or starving myself.  No crazy diets, no dit pills, no hours in the gym, I just change my habits. I start doing some things that people think is against the loosing weight process, but they helped me get rid of those 10 pounds.
  • I drink a glass of water before every meal
  • When I’m hungry but I already ate an important meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) I have a glass of water. Normally we confuse thirst with hunger
  • I eat a big breakfast, a normal size lunch and a small portion dinner
  • I eat 5 times a day, and I don’t deprive myself. If I want chocolate I eat it, but in a smaller portion.
  • I go for dark chocolate and almonds, fruits and nuts as a snack.
  • I eat tons of proteins and some carbs to use as energy
  • I stop adding ketchup, mayonnese, mustard, or any kind of sauce to my food.
  • I stopped frying my schnitzel or fries or whatever is supposed to be made with grassy oil, I bake them in the oven instead.
  • Do 30 minutes of cardio everyday! There are 100 of ways to do so, dance around your house, jog, do something that will make you heart move!
  • Do stretches every night before going t bed. You will relax and tone your body at the same time!
  • Forget about the elevator and use the stairs instead.
  • Look for recipes in internet that will show you how to do the same food but with less calories. “Cook This Not That” is the favorite book in my house!

Just don’t over do anything, be healthy and love your body!

Skinny Rules

“Beach Body” or “Summer Body” is the denomination that is given to that firm and sexy body that is shown in the beach or during the summer. We all want that, and we spend hours in the gym and eating vegetables and fruits while avoiding carbs. But then the summer is over, we ingest carbs again and that slim body is gone! Istead of looking like a Victoria’s Secret Bombshell (as if!) we look like Michellin.
But now, thanks to Bob Harper and his book “The Skinny Rules”, we can make that body go all year around. So scratch that “Beach” or “Summer”, this will be YOUR BODY:
(NOTE: must of this rules seems too radical for me, I do some of them. Just be healthy and don’t overdo anything!)

  1. Before every meal, drink a big glass of water.
  2. Don’t drink your calories.
  3. Add protein to every meal.
  4. Don’t eat many grains and flours.
  5. Ingest 30gr to 50gr of fiber per day.
  6. Eat apples and berries every day.
  7. Forget about carbs after lunch.
  8. Read the labels of what you are eating.
  9. Don’t spend too much time wondering what is the right size portion, answer the question!
  10. Don’t add sugar to your food, not even splenda!
  11. Get rid of those white potatoes.
  12. Go meatless one day of the week
  13. No fast food!
  14. Eat a proper breakfast.
  15. Bake your own meals.
  16. Stop adding salt to your food.
